Case management built for how law firms actually work
Most small and mid-size firms still run on a mix of Excel, WhatsApp, and paper files. CaseDeck replaces all three with one place where every case, client, document, hearing, and payment lives — searchable, secure, and never lost when someone's out sick or a laptop dies.
From filing to case in seconds, not minutes
Upload a court document as a PDF and CaseDeck reads it, extracting the case title, type, court, case number, filing date, and client details automatically — pre-filling the new case form for you to review and confirm. For bigger matters, drop a whole bundle — plaint, annexures, orders, vakalatnama — and CaseDeck merges what it finds, surfacing conflicts for you to resolve.
Ask the case file a question — get a cited answer
On any case, ask a plain-language question — "What reliefs did the plaint seek?" "What did the last order direct?" — and get an answer grounded only in that case's own documents and timeline, with citations back to the source. Not open-ended legal research: a fast way to find what the file already says.
Argument points from the file, not from thin air
Add optional notes, tick Bare Acts or favourite judgments from your firm's law library, then generate — and refine — possible argument points for the side your firm represents. Drawn from this case's documents and timeline plus the PDFs you attached for that run. Cites case law only from those attached authorities; never fabricates citations. Save the points you want onto the case workspace as a note.
A short summary on every new PDF
Newly uploaded PDFs get a brief AI summary on the document row once ready, so a forty-document case stays scannable without opening every file. Older uploads can be summarized on demand after the firm turns AI features on.
Malayalam documents, translated to English in one upload
Upload a Malayalam legal document — text-based or a scan — and get a clean English translation in seconds, powered by Claude. It reads the page the way a person would, not just whatever text a PDF happens to expose, so scanned court filings translate as well as typed ones. Copy the text, or download it as a .txt file, a formatted PDF, or a Word document.
A complete case lifecycle, not just a filing cabinet
Every case carries its full story in one place: multiple parties on each side, documents, supporting references, hearing history, interim and final verdicts, and every payment against the agreed fee — with the outstanding balance calculated automatically.
GST-compliant invoices in one click
Generate a proper GST tax invoice straight from a recorded payment — SAC code, tax rate, CGST/SGST or IGST, and reverse charge handled correctly for B2B legal services, with sequential invoice numbers reset each financial year the way GST filing expects.
Never miss a Limitation Act deadline
Set the filing deadline on any matter and CaseDeck tracks it against the Limitation Act, 1963 — red when overdue, amber inside 30 days — with court-holiday-aware extensions per Section 4. After a final verdict, track the appeal-filing window the same way.
Know before you take the case
As you enter the opposing party's name, CaseDeck checks it against every existing client and past opposing party across the firm and flags a possible conflict of interest on the spot.
Real-time case status, straight from the courts
Attach a case's eCourts CNR number and pull its live status, hearing history, and court details on demand — no separate portal, no manual status checks.
A ready-to-file docket cover sheet, in your own letterhead
Generate a formatted docket cover sheet for any case in one click — closed with your firm's own letterhead (position, size, and color set once in Settings). The latest docket and combined case PDF stay on the case under Documents → Generated, alongside view-only GST invoices, so you can reopen or replace them without regenerating everything. Upload your firm logo once and it appears on login and in the app navigation too.
Court-fee guidance without a separate spreadsheet
Look up applicable court-fee / stamp-duty categories your firm maintains and apply them while preparing a matter — structure for Kerala-style fee schedules without forcing every firm into one hardcoded table.
Bank-grade login security, built in
Two-factor authentication (TOTP — works with Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, and any standard authenticator app) is available for every user, and admins can require it firm-wide. On phones, tablets, and laptops you can also add a passkey and sign in with Face ID or a fingerprint instead of a password — still phishing-resistant, with password + 2FA kept as a fallback. Combined with automatic sign-out after an hour of inactivity and automatic lockout after repeated failed password attempts, your clients' case data stays protected even if a device is lost, left unlocked, or someone's guessing at a password.
Every document encrypted, not just in transit
Every file you upload is encrypted (AES-256) before it's stored — so the contents are protected at rest, not only while moving between your browser and CaseDeck. Client contracts, evidence, filings: none of it ever sits on disk in plain, readable form.
Your data stays in India
Everything — uploaded documents and files, and the database behind every case, client, and hearing record — is hosted on infrastructure located in India. No client contract, evidence file, or case record ever leaves the country, which matters when the documents in question are legal records.
Proof your evidence hasn't been tampered with
Every document uploaded is fingerprinted with a SHA-256 hash the moment it lands — a cryptographic proof that the file is exactly what was uploaded, unchanged, whenever it's needed. Peace of mind for digital evidence that matters.
A complete, exportable audit trail
Every meaningful action — case updates, document uploads, hearing changes, payments, user administration, sign-ins — is logged automatically with who did it and when. Filter by user, action, or date range, and export to CSV or a formatted PDF for compliance reviews, partner reporting, or client requests.
Built for firms with more than one lawyer
Role-based access (Admin / Lawyer), per-case assignment, and a safety net that requires reassigning a departing lawyer's active cases before they can be removed — so no case is ever silently orphaned when staff change. Reassign or close a whole batch of cases at once when workload shifts.
Never miss a hearing
A calendar view of every hearing across every case — including your firm's court holidays — a dashboard that surfaces what's coming up in the next 30 days, and an automatic email reminder to the assigned lawyer 24-48 hours before every hearing. If a case has no assigned lawyer yet, every admin gets notified instead.
A checklist for everything that isn't a hearing
Not every procedural step has a court date attached — filing a written statement, serving notice, chasing a document from the client. A lightweight task list on every case lets anyone add a to-do with an optional due date, check it off, or delete it. Overdue items are flagged red, ones coming up in the next 3 days are flagged amber.
Reminders that reach you even when the app is closed
Enable notifications on any device in one click, right from the bell menu, and hearing reminders arrive as a push notification — no app switching, no missed email in a crowded inbox. Works alongside the existing email reminders, and it's per device.
Know who's overloaded before you assign the next case
An admin-only workload view breaks down every lawyer's open case count, outstanding balance across those cases, and all-time closed cases — sorted busiest-first — so assigning new intake is a quick glance, not a guess. A banner calls out any open case with no assigned lawyer at all.
A notification bell that knows your role
No digging through the dashboard to see what's urgent — the bell in the top nav surfaces it directly. Lawyers see hearings coming up on their own cases; admins additionally see firm-wide hearings, cases with an outstanding balance, and cases nobody's been assigned to yet.
Star the cases that need extra eyes right now
Flag any case as a favourite with one click — from the case itself or right in the case list — and it floats to the top of your dashboard's recent cases, ahead of everything else, until you un-star it.
Find anything in seconds, from anywhere in the app
One search bar, always available in the top nav, across your entire firm — case titles and numbers, client and opposing party names, document filenames, and reference files. It even looks inside your PDFs: search a clause or a name that only appears in a document's body text and it still turns up.
Get paid, and know exactly what's owed
Record every payment against a case's agreed fee, in whatever method the client used (cash, bank transfer, card, cheque, UPI). Set an optional due date and overdue amounts light up so unpaid balances don't hide. Outstanding balance is calculated per case and rolled up firm-wide on the dashboard.
A professional client experience
Share a beautifully formatted, firm-branded PDF case summary — with your firm's own seal and letterhead — directly to a client's inbox in one click, with an optional personal note. It's the kind of polish clients notice.
One click, the entire case file
Export a complete case — every document, every reference file, and a formatted case summary — as a single ZIP download. Hand a co-counsel, a client, or your own archive the whole picture in one file instead of downloading a dozen attachments one at a time.
One indexed PDF, exactly the documents and order you choose
Beyond a raw ZIP, generate a single merged PDF: a formatted case overview followed by every document and reference file, with an index page showing exactly where each one starts. Pick just the documents that belong in a particular filing, and arrange them by drag or sort — that exact order carries through to the finished PDF. The latest combined PDF stays on the case under Documents → Generated.
Documents tagged, not just dumped in a pile
Tag every upload — Petition, Affidavit, Evidence, Order, Judgment, and more — so a case with forty documents stays scannable. Tags are fully searchable, and you can rename a document anytime so the export index shows the name you meant.
Pull the passages that matter onto a working board
Highlight a passage directly inside a PDF and pin it to a free-form workspace board for that case — with every card linked back to exactly where it came from. Add your own note cards too, so research threads and next steps live on the same board as excerpts.
Speaks your firm's language
Full interface in English and Malayalam today, with more languages straightforward to add. Adjust text size from the nav when you need larger type on a long court day.
Works on every device, even offline-ish
Installable as a native-feeling app on phones, tablets, and desktops (PWA), with an offline app shell so it opens instantly even on a spotty connection.
Your firm's data, completely private
Every firm gets its own private workspace at its own web address. Your cases, clients, and documents are never visible to any one else — full stop.
Who it's for
- Solo and small practices who've outgrown spreadsheets but don't want enterprise software overhead.
- Multi-lawyer firms that need real accountability — who's handling what, and proof of it — without hiring an IT department to get it.
- Any firm coordinating cases over WhatsApp and paper files and losing time — or a hearing date — because of it.
What sets CaseDeck apart
- AI does your data entry. Most competitors make you type everything by hand — CaseDeck reads your documents for you.
- AI that stays inside the case file and the law you attached. Ask the documents a question or brainstorm argument points — always grounded in this matter's own record and your firm's law library, never fabricated case-law citations.
- Security you'd expect from a bank, not a spreadsheet. 2FA, passkeys (Face ID / fingerprint), full audit trails, encryption at rest, and cryptographic document integrity, standard.
- Genuinely multilingual, not an afterthought bolted onto an English-only product.
- Built for the way Indian legal practices actually operate — INR-native billing, regional court types, and a design shaped around how firms here actually work.
- Deep on Indian legal compliance, not just translated software. GST invoicing, Limitation Act deadlines with court holidays, and live CNR-based case status from the courts.
